When Healing Culture Becomes Another Effin’ Religion

Updated: Sep 18
I exist in the “healing” space, and for the past couple of years i have been questioning the culture we’ve built around healing itself.
I am not discounting those who actually, genuinely need healing ~ those who have to live with the aftermath of abuse, violence, trauma, betrayal, confusion, grief…all of that.
I’ve witnessed souls break from those sort of experiences and I’ve also witnessed how they can somehow come out on the other end with an entirely different level of awareness.
But somewhere along the way, we started treating ordinary human experience as evidence that there is always another wound waiting to be healed.
Another layer, another trauma that needs healing or another experience that needs to be excavated.
And so the doors of the Temple of Perpetual Healing swing open.
Suddenly, being triggered becomes some sort of confession and by default it becomes an unhealed wound. But hey, didn’t you just heal that last year ? Ahhh….babe…that was the first layer it , and it seem like there is always another layer…😂
So now you must journal about what this person is mirroring back to you. You know the process; find the trigger, process it, find the lesson and release it, regulate and integrate.
So when exactly will you be healed ? Well…you’ve heard that healing isn’t linear, but of course. 😂
But what if you are not actually wounded ? What if you are just fudging impatient and became anxious, annoyed and angry because somebody had crossed your boundaries ?
Apparently that could also be resistance. Or ego….or avoidance… dysregulation. Blaaaa blaaah …yawnsss.
Isn’t this just another obsession of getting possessed, but make it wellness…! 😂
And this is where I started questioning the whole thing, not healing itself because obviously, some trauma genuinely needs healing.
But this whole culture where every single fdging thing that happens to you apparently needs to lead somewhere deeper. Every emotion has a root, every trigger has a wound, every relationship has a lesson, every person is mirroring something.
Every reaction is your nervous system. Every difficult experience is an invitation. Invitation to WHAT, exactly…. ? 😂 Mama miaaa…!
Look…sometimes you feel just annoyed because sometimes somebody is being a pain in your bum. Sometimes you miss someone and that is that ! And sometimes you don’t feel good because your sensitive body (your messiah) just doesn’t feel safe !

Not every single one of these things need to become a healing project …! rolling my THIRD eyeeee
Because at some point, you start looking at yourself like you are this never-ending fudging renovation project. Another crack, another part of yourself apparently you haven’t loved enough. Another wound …another layer…another bloody layer.
How many layers are there, babe… ? Am I a Bombay onion…? 😂
Errr no… let me just feel what i am feeling.
And also…who decided that a human being is supposed to eventually become this perfectly healed, perfectly regulated, perfectly conscious creature who responds beautifully to everything ? Because i am so over being the little miss perfect ! Because quite frankly, i like myself breaking the little miss perfectionism me. It feels freeeeeing.
Love me , accept me as I am; that loving complicated unicorn alienette experiencing this human experience ! Sometimes i want to be dramatic….and sometimes i want to experience the anger because its showing me that you had pissed me off ! Sometimes, i just don’t want to GAF. Sometimes, i just want to break out of my good girl nature. How revolutionary ! 😂 I know..!!

And i think thats the true meaning of healing~ it gives you more of yourself back ~ that space of of self expression without really losing the essence of the self. Because beneath it all, I am still me. And to know what the Universe, life and my existence is all about…? Well, that’s probably the only excavation I’m still interested in.
Anyway, I’ve just discovered my actual unhealed wound: a notification saying I have 111 unread notifications. 😂 Now THIS is some shizzzz I need to heal from.
Love always,Miza
